Quick Update

Let’s see, I finished Visions of Heat, the second book in Nailini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series, over the weekend. It was enjoyable, absolutely, but I didn’t like it as much as Slave to Sensation. One of the things that, though it shouldn’t have, kept putting me off was the cover. It was a case of text description not matching visual depiction. And in this case it was different enough to be jarring. When I came into work this morning Caressed By Ice, Judd’s book, was waiting for me, but it’ll have to wait a bit longer.

Currently, Jeaniene Frost’s Halfway to the Grave is being carted around in my bag, and I’m getting to read it in small bits and pieces. I’m going to reserve judgment, of course, but so far the British slang that’s constantly being slung by Bones is messing with me. In spite of that, I think I’m enjoying it. Certainly enough to need to keep going with it {and enough to have me wanting to read the next in the series.} And, quite frankly, I’m going to need to pick up the pace on this one because…

Rachel Caine’s Feast of Fools is available!! My mom – you just gotta love moms – got a call from me today from work. It ran along the lines of me begging her to visit Borders to grab a copy for me {because, no, I absolutely could not wait until whenever the heck tonight I’d be able to pick it up on my own.} She patiently waited as I tried to quietly say the title: “Test of Fools?” “No, Feast – as in Frank.” “Of Fowls?” “No, Fools. You know, f-o-o-l-s.” “Oh, right.” I’ve said it many times before, but I am absolutely addicted to the Morganville Vampire series. They can’t come out fast enough to suit me and they are most definitely not long enough to satisfy my craving. So…when a new title is released I pounce; you better believe it’s going to hurt to not dig in as soon as my mother hands over that copy.

So that’s where I’m at! I’d say it’s a good place to be, too.
