So BEA is coming up soon. I tried to talk my husband into a quick jaunt to NYC, but the odd look I got pretty much told me it was a no-go. This year, at least. Which means I’ll have to admit to being incredibly jealous of those who will be attending , meeting all the wonderful authors signing there, and picking up those much coveted ARCs. (I’m missing out on meeting Deanna Raybourn, people! sniff.) But, if I had a BEA wishlist, books that I would try my darndest to get a copy of (if they were there,) I’d include:

Who isn’t going to make a mad dash for Catching Fire? Oh, yeah, I’d definitely be one of those waiting in line super early for that one.
I’d also like to snag an ARC of Lauren Baratz-Logsted’s Crazy Beautiful. I posted about that one a while ago – it feels like forever ago – and have been waiting for its release ever since. Lenore from Presenting Lenore got one in the mail, and, man, a little bit of envy wound around me.
Sarah Rees Brennan recently mentioned that Sarah Cross‘s Dull Boy brought to mind Sky High (Warren Peace!) And I already wanted to read it! The sooner the better! And since it just recently released, I might have to convince my husband to take me to a bookstore. Hmm…
And, finally, Shiver. I tried. I really did. To win an ARC in the Merry Sisters of Fate story contest. Alas, it didn’t pan out. (Runner-up, which is still awesome, and I’m totally happy with that.) Maggie Stiefvater, I don’t suppose you’d want to take pity on a poor YA librarian who is haunted by dreams of beautiful wolves and a girl named Grace?
And, of course, there are probably a ton more I’m not mentioning (oh, like Jackson Pearce‘s As You Wish. And Diana Peterfreund‘s Rampant. And…well, nevermind. Plus, that’s just the YA titles that I’d be rushing for.) So, how about you? If you went to BEA, what might you want to snag a copy of?

Ha! If only I had more ARCs . . .
Maggie – A girl can wish. And dream. And pine. And fade away. Waiting on August.
After I secured a copy of Kristin Cashore’s newest, then I’d just get one of everything.
I have to preach Sunday, otherwise, I had so wanted to make a trip to NYC to go to BEA…er, um, to see my brother. Yes, my brother.
Aerin – See, I’m a lucky one on that score; I have a copy of Fire sitting on a shelf at home. Otherwise, I’d be in line with you! And, you know, I think visiting your brother is an excellent idea for a trip to NYC.
I certainly hope wishing does make it so! Enjoy BEA – wish I was going this year!
Lauren – Me, too! Wish I was going, I mean. It’s not in the cards this year, though. So I’ve been torturing myself, imagining which arcs I’d try to snag, visiting BEA’s website, etc. Sigh…
Just had to request Diana Peterfreund’s “Rampant” be removed from the shelves of my daughter’s school library. Was it really necessary to reference the boy getting a “hand job” in this book for pre-teens/teens? Way to ruin what could’ve been a great book for my daughter, disappointed in the judgement of the author.
