I’ve read more these past nine days than I managed over the course of the previous six months. It feels…miraculous. Like something finally clicked back into place. Or, if not that, aligned enough to make the gears move.
At my best friend’s urging and to satiate curiosity about a book that was generally very well received, I finally picked up Gayle Forman’s If I Stay. And as the post title says, I’ve almost finished it.
After, I have to read a couple of cozy mysteries for work, and then perhaps one of these:
- Bitter Blood (Morganville Vampires) – Rachel Caine
- The Turning – Francine Prose
- Sailor Twain – Mark Siegel
How about you? What are you reading now or will be moving onto?

What a wonderful feeling, Chelle. I’m so happy for you.
I really did love the end of IF I STAY. Made the entire book for me. I’m in the middle of two books right now: CATHERINE and A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES. Enjoying both very much.
Your review was part of the push to finally read it. I’m in complete agreement with you on that ending. I just received my copy of Catherine and could not be more excited to start it. That you’re enjoying it only adds to the anticipation.
Hurray for beating the reading slump!
I’m almost finished with Katie McGarry’s PUSHING THE LIMITS which is amazeballs. Sigh. <3 I'm also reading Marissa Meyer's SCARLET which so far has not disappointed.
After reading Angie’s review, I very much want to read Scarlet, but wasn’t able to get through Cinder. (My feeling is that my mood at the time wasn’t conducive to that particular book, so the plan is to go back and read it…I just don’t know when.)
Sequels tend to be ehh after the first book but SCARLET happily defies this tradition. I hope you give CINDER a shot sometime soon!
I just finished Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake because, after reading Angie’s review, I could not wait to get my hands on it. I have to say I am not big on Regency Romance, but it did live up to Angie’s review.
As for the future, who knows, I’ll just pick something from my huge TBR pile…
I’ve had that one sitting at home for ages! Time to bump it up on the list.
I have a couple of books on the go, mainly ones I can dip in and out of depending what I’m in the mood for. This strategy as really helped me keep my reading up.
It may be that I should try that strategy myself. Hope that whatever you’ve got on the go, you’re enjoying it!
There’re a couple of books I started last year and am still making my leisurely way through:
The Complete Sherlock Holmes collection
Born Confused, by Tanuja Hidier
Sea of Trolls, by Nancy Farmer
And right now I’m (finally) reading The Girl Who CIrcumnavigated Fairyland
I LOVED The Girl Who…. Hope you’re enjoying it!
I am, definitely!
Yay for finding books to break the slump. I loved If I Stay and was emotionally gutted again by Where She Went! I am currently reading Kate Morton’s The Secret Keeper and enjoying it very much.
I’m going to wait a little while and then go ahead and pick up Where She Went. I am both looking forward to it and fearful of what might happen between these characters.
